As of March 28, 2025, the Table Rock Complex Fire in South Carolina is threatening communities and worsening air quality along the South Carolina – North Carolina border in the Appalachians (1)(2). The Table Rock Complex, which includes both the Table Rock Fire and the Persimmon Ridge Fires, has burned thousands of acres of dry mountain brush and woodland in Pickens County, South Carolina.
The larger of the two fires, the Table Rock Fire, has burned up to the North Carolina state line, and is impacting areas near Table Rock State Park.
